We’ve established operations inside Afghanistan.

Red Source is fulfilling an urgent humanitarian need in Afghanistan. In September 2021 with the full permission and support of the new government, Red Source was able to commence operations inside the country. This is, of course, crucial in ensuring the safety of its operational crew and the reliability of its logistical chain.

Safety, security and reliability are hallmarks of Red Source, a company with ISO:9001 certification. Additionally Red Source adheres to international standards of CSR, health and safety, quality and anti-bribery and corruption.

“I have always put quality and safety first,” says founder Mark Forrester. “When you are working to deliver humanitarian and emergency medical supplies, there is no other way. It is the foundation of everything we do, in line with our stringently managed processes.”

The company is experienced in delivering supplies to and within challenging environments. These have included conflict zones, areas of natural disaster and refugee camps.

For anyone with even a passing interest in global affairs, the recent events in Afghanistan will not have gone unnoticed. As many NGOs and organisations made the difficult decision to leave the country and evacuate its staff, Red Source went against the flow and entered Afghanistan.

The Red Source operations team on the ground has decades of experience in security management consulting across the region. With our high-level communicators and negotiators on the ground, we can navigate complex chains of command to secure the permission and full support of the new government in Afghanistan to commence operations. This has allowed Red Source to quickly and effectively start work with the few remaining NGOs and aid organisations and establish supply routes to areas where the need for humanitarian aid is greatest.

The Red Source team ensures a complete logistics chain and top-level security for our storage and movement of food and supplies across the whole country.

“As we find ourselves in the depths of winter, we urgently need funding from private donors to get the aid to those most in need,” says Forrester.

“The Mayors and Governors of key provinces have opened the doors for us to do our work, but we need funds to continue. We are working with local organisations inside the country and we have government support. It’s crucial now to let potential donors and aid organisations that want to work with us, know that we are fully operational and in need of funds. All funding goes directly to helping the people of Afghanistan, and we have a fully transparent process of procurement and funds allocation. Because of our operational structure, we are also extremely agile; our project with a leading NGO was delivered within days of receiving funds.”
